Smilly is a Philadelphia-focused app that allows users to log, rate, and map unpleasant smells throughout the city. From passing whiffs to persistent problem areas, each entry contributes to a shared understanding of where and when bad smells occur.

The app encourages community participation by turning something normally ignored into something worth noticing. By tracking these experiences over time, Smilly creates a growing dataset that can reveal patterns, highlight problem areas, and give people a new way to engage with their environment.

While the concept leans playful, Smilly is grounded in a larger goal. The collected data could help support conversations around air quality, offering both residents and city officials insight into how environmental conditions affect everyday life in Philadelphia.
